Dear Friend of IACF,

The Indo-American Charity Foundation (IACF) is entering its third decade of existence because of your continued support and generous contributions.  IACF has made significant impact on the lives of many underprivileged citizens in the greater Houston area.  I feel truly honored to be part of this great organization.  

 We have made progress on many fronts over the past year. We have leveraged the grants given to achieve identifiable benefits with permanent legacy.  Child Advocates of Fort Bend will have three consecutive counseling rooms bearing the name of the Foundation.  The Board is working on a couple of other similar opportunities with local charities.  It has instituted a system for due diligence for the grants given to ensure that your funds are deployed efficiently and optimally.  We are acutely aware and conscious of the fact that the Board serves only as a conduit of the funds donated by friends like you.  Hence, we have instituted a policy to secure accountability reports on a regular basis from our major grant recipients.  The website has recently been updated and will be further enhanced.

The walkathon on April 13th was enjoyed by all attendees and helped us to raise over $20,000. We wish more had attended and enjoyed the perfect weather of that day.   We hope to build up on the success factors of the event to attract more attendees in the future.

Our gala of 2008 will be held on September 13th at the J. W. Marriott Hotel (Galleria area). commemorating the history of IACF with the theme of “ Savor the past … favor the future”.  The future is certainly challenging with ever increasing need for more grant funds and the growing number of non-profit entities in the Indo-American community.  I would like to make a personal appeal to friends like you to consider the importance of giving to the local community where we live and expect to be the home of many generations to come. With the track history of IACF, the Foundation stands ready to serve the needs of the Greater Houston area community with passion, perseverance and the needed consistency.

I urge every stakeholder to consider increasing the contribution by at least 20% over 2007 which will help us to achieve the goals for 2008-09   Please review the attached forms and return them with your check latest by July 15 to Mr. Nat Murthy at the address shown to take advantage of the matching program. The Board is ready to meet with you individually and help to expedite the donation process in any way we can.
